NASB:
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God.
NIV:
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.
Observations:
Jesus is the Son of the God.
We have been given the ability to acknowledge and/or confess (NASB) that Jesus is the Son of God.
If we acknowledge and confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in us.
If we acknowledge and confess that Jesus is the Son of God, we live in God.
Takeaways:
As Christians, it is our goal to live as God. He gives us the key to doing that in this verse from the first letter of John.
Acknowledge and confess that Jesus is the Son of God. And as we do that, we have assurance that he lives in us and we live in God.
