New American Standard Bible:
For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.
New Living Translation:
And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.
New King James Version:
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins [a]and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.
New International Version:
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Amplified Bible:
For I will be merciful and gracious toward their wickedness, and I will remember their sins no more.”
Context:
Hebrews chapter eight is a marvelous passage in which the author describes the new covenant we have with Jesus and how it did away with the old covenant. Verse 12 gives the development upon which it all hinges.
Observations:
God has been merciful to forgive us for our iniquities and our sins, which are many. But not only does he forgive us for them, he remembers them no more.
Application:
What an encouraging verse. We have all sinned in many ways, but through Jesus we can all be forgiven. And when we are forgiven and washed clean from the stain of our sin, God remembers our sin never again.
