LISTEN
New American Standard Bible:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
New Living Translation:
He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
New King James Version:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
New International Version:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Amplified Bible:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Context:
Psalm 103 is written by David, and it is a Psalm of praise for the Lord’s mercy toward us. After listing the incomprehensible benefits our God bestows upon us, he then makes an amazing statement about what God does with our sin in verse 12.
Observations:
God has completely removed our sin and our transgressions. The verse says he has removed them as far as the east is from the west, which in God’s economy is basically infinite.
Application:
Just to sit and dwell on the fact that God has been so gracious as to restrain himself, the all-powerful creator of the universe, from remembering the sin we have committed is utterly astounding. As Christians, we should thank him for it every day.
