Context:
Psalm 146 acknowledges God as our abundant helper. Throughout its ten verses, the author builds to a crescendo listing attributes of character and ability about our Lord.
Observations:
Verse eight tells us that God opens the eyes of the blind; he raises up those who are bowed down, which means those who are burdened with various weights of life – which he can take away; and he loves those who are righteous, godly, upright in heart.
Application:
If God can open the eyes of the blind, he can do anything for us that we need. When we become burdened and “bowed down,” he stands ready to raise us upright. If we are righteous and upright in our hearts, we can know that he loves us.
