New American Standard Bible:
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
New Living Translation:
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.
New King James Version:
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
New International Version:
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
Amplified Bible:
The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, believers) say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take and drink the water of life without cost.
Context:
This is the fifth-to-last verse in the entire Bible as John concludes his recording of the revelation God gave him.
Observations:
The Spirit is the Holy Spirit. The bride is the church. Everyone is bidding the Lord to return. We are all saying, “come.”
Anyone who is thirsty spiritually, can drink from the water of life that flows from the throne of God. Living water costs us nothing.
Application:
Pray that the Lord will come, that he will yet again take his stand on the earth soon.
Drink from the water of life. Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4 that he had living water. The water cost him everything. It costs us nothing.
