NASB:
This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
NIV:
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Observations:
Psalm 118 is a psalm of thanksgiving for the Lord’s saving goodness. In verse 24, he gives us an observation for thanksgiving to God and two exhortations.
Today — whatever day on which you listen to this — was made by the Lord. The Lord is the creator of day.
As a result, we should rejoice that today has been made by the Lord.
We should also be glad that today has been made by the Lord.
Takeaways:
Think on today and each day within the context of it being a gift from God, who created each day.
Rejoice and be glad in today because our gracious Heavenly Father has made it. Without the Lord, we would not even have a day.
