Scripture in 60: Romans 10:13

NASB:

For, “Whoever will call on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

NIV:

For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Observations:

In Romans 10, the apostle Paul is teaching about salvation and how it may be attained, and he draws from the words written by the prophet Joel (Joel 2:32). It is also something that Peter said following being filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Every single person has the ability to be saved.

In order to be saved, a person must call upon the name of the Lord.

Every single person who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Takeaways:

Call upon the name of the Lord. There is no salvation without this, and salvation is guaranteed when we do it.

Tell others this message. There is a reason Peter preached this passage, first heard from the prophet Joel, in Acts 2, and Paul uses it again in Romans 10. Those who will be saved must call upon the name of the Lord.
