Trump admin invokes executive privilege ahead of Barr contempt vote
In response to the House Judiciary Committee’s impending vote to find Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement saying that the Trump administration would use a measure called “protective assertion of executive privilege,” which basically means the White House can keep the Mueller report and the documents associated with it from being subpoenaed.
Attorney General Barr wrote a letter to President Trump on Tuesday requesting that he pursue this action.
