Free speech is under attack from those claiming to uphold it
The White House Correspondents Association had its annual dinner on Saturday night, which usually features comedic relief about the issues of the day. This year, however, the media decided to use the event to complain about President Trump.
Because of repeated errant and too often deliberately false and weaponized reporting done about this particular president, Fox News host Tucker Carlson ripped the card-carrying members of the mainstream media who have done nothing but ruin their journalistic reputation. He gives examples of how the media, who purport themselves as defenders of the First Amendment, have deceived through their coverage of President Trump and failed to make the same argument when the Obama administration actually spied on members of the press.

Budget for thee but not for me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi used the refrain many times when talking about President Trump and Congressional Republicans, “Show me your budget, show me your values.” If her own rhetoric is going to be applied to the caucus over which she presides, then House Democrats have no values. They failed to pass a budget in the House, most likely due to the growing internal conflict within the party caused by those on the extreme left.
Meanwhile, House Republicans did pass a detailed budget. It would reportedly reduce spending by $12.6 trillion over 10 years and balance the budget by 2025.
Of course, since the Republicans do not have a majority number of votes in the House, this budget is not going to take effect. Nevertheless, it is at least a budget at a time when the national debt exceeds $22 trillion.
