Scripture in 60: II Chronicles 5:14

NASB:

So that priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.

NIV:

And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God.

Observations:

After king Solomon completed the construction of God’s temple, he brought in the ark of the covenant. Subsequently, the people sang praises to the Lord and his presence came to the temple.

God filled his temple in a cloud.

God’s presence was so majestic the priests could not perform their service due to the cloud.

The glory of Jehova God permeated the entire temple that had just been built as a praise offering to him.

Takeaways:

Invite God’s presence into our lives. Today we have the Holy Spirit as the manifestation of God in our lives. How often do we, as the Israelites did after completing the temple, earnestly seek the cloud of the Spirit of God to fill our lives?

Stop what we are doing to see God. The priests had to cease ministering because God was there.

Bask in his glory. The glory of God filled the temple, and they were in the presence of God. Let us seek the presence of God, then revel in it.
