NASB:
Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against you.
NIV:
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Observations:
A good portion of the 119th Psalm is David thanking and praising God for his word.
This verse is differently phrased by version. The NASB says treasured, and the NIV says hidden.
The benefit of treasuring God’s word and hiding it is that we won’t sin.
Our sins are against God.
Takeaways:
God has left us the roadmap to find him and remove sin from our lives, and that is his word.
We need to hide his word in our hearts and treasure it. That means becoming familiar with scripture and its meaning, as well as applying it in an appropriate manner.
