LISTEN
NASB:
The king will answer and say to them, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of mine, even to the least of them, you did it to me.”
NIV:
The king will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Observations:
Jesus was foretelling what will be said in the judgment about our deeds on earth.
The things we do for people on earth are things we do for the Lord, and no deed or person is insignificant to him.
It is also noteworthy that Jesus refers to the people we help as his brothers.
Takeaways:
There is no deed that doesn’t matter to the Lord, and there is no person who doesn’t matter to the Lord.
When we serve others, particularly those small in earthly prominence, we are serving the Lord.
