NASB:
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
NIV:
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
Observations:
Paul is writing to the Corinthians about temptation.
He implies that we will be tempted, but not beyond what is common to man nor what we can bear.
God is a faithful God.
And when we are tempted, he will provide us a way of escape and we will be able to endure temptation.
Takeaways:
First, know that the temptations we face are the same temptations that every person has faced since Genesis.
God is a faithful God, and because of that, he knows what we can bear and what we can’t. He won’t allow more than we can bear to overtake us.
Finally, we need to know that God will provide a way of escape from our temptation and we need to take it.
