LISTEN
NASB:
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
NIV:
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.
Observations:
This is immediately following a verse in which the author of Hebrews reaffirms that Christ can sympathize with our weaknesses because of his becoming human. He uses that as a stepping stone to say that we can draw near to his throne with confidence.
God’s throne is a throne of grace toward us. Drawing near to it will help us find mercy and grace as helps in our times of need.
Takeaways:
Approach his throne with confidence. We don’t come irreverently, but we have the boldness that he has given us when taking our petitions to almighty God.
Understand that he has mercy and grace toward us, so when we approach his throne, we do not have to fear.
When we are in need, we need to go to God.
