NASB:
But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.
NIV:
But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.
Observations:
Paul is writing to the Romans about the day of judgment and how to avoid the wrath of God.
One thing this verse makes abundantly clear is that there will be a day of God’s wrath and judgment, and God’s judgment is righteous.
It is up to us as to whether we will store up wrath for ourselves. He calls the Romans out for being stubborn and refusing to repent of their sin.
Takeaways:
We need to understand that there is a day of God’s righteous judgment coming, and his wrath toward our sin will be revealed on that day.
We cannot be stubborn or have unrepentant hearts, for those store up wrath for us in the day of God’s judgment.
We can avoid the ultimate judgment and wrath of God by repenting of our sins and surrendering our lives to God through his son, Jesus, who took our wrath upon himself at the cross.
