NASB:
The steadfast of mind you will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
NIV:
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you.
Observations:
The prophet Isaiah is writing a song of joy and praise in the 26th chapter of the book he wrote. In verse three, he identifies God as the great calmer.
He is the one who maintains peace within us, and he does it perfectly, resulting in perfect peace.
He does this when our minds trust in him or are stayed upon him, the rock of ages.
Takeaways:
First, we need to understand God as our peace. We think of peace as the absence of human conflict, but true peace is found between us and God. Jesus came to become our peace.
Then, in order to obtain the perfect peace that only God can provide, we must fix our minds on him and trust in him completely.
