Scripture in 60: Joshua 1:9

NASB:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

NIV:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Observations:

God was speaking to Joshua after the death of Moses when he was taking over the leadership of the people of Israel.

He was reminding them of his command to be strong and courageous, not to be afraid nor discouraged.

The LORD, who was the God if Israel and is our God, promised to be with them wherever they went.

Takeaways:

We are given four directives in this verse — be strong, be courageous, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.

A promise is also given to us that the Lord our God will go with us wherever we go.

Our strength, our courage, our not being afraid nor discouraged comes from the strength that only the Lord can provide.
