Observations:
We are God’s people.
God’s people are called by his name.
He calls us to humble ourselves.
He calls us to pray.
He calls us to seek the face of God.
He calls us to turn from our wicked ways.
If we humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways, he will hear from heaven.
If we humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways, he will forgive our sin.
If we humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways, he will heal our land.
Takeaways:
The Lord is appearing to Solomon and giving him a four-step solution that will result in a three-fold benefit for the cleansing and healing of the land of Israel.
The four steps are humbling ourselves, praying, seeking the face of God and turning from our wicked ways.
If we do those things, he will give us the following three benefits — hearing us from heaven, forgiving our sin and healing our land.
