Scripture in 60: I Corinthians 15:58

NASB:

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

NIV:

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Observations:

We are to be steadfast and to stand firm.

We are to let nothing move us.

We are to always work for the Lord, and to give ourselves fully to that.

We know that our labor for and in the Lord is not in vain.

Takeaways:

Paul is encouraging the Corinthians, not only telling them to continue in their work, but also how to do that.

Despite all of the challenges and distractions of life, he exhorts us to stand firm and let nothing move us.

We are to work for the Lord, and not just work, but give ourselves fully to the work.

We won’t fully understand this until we get to heaven, but our labor for the Lord is never in vain.
