Scripture in 60: Galatians 2:20

NASB:

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.”

NIV:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Observations:

We have been crucified with Christ.

We no longer live.

Christ lives in us.

We still live life in our fleshly bodies.

The life we live in the body we now live by faith in the Son of God.

The Son loved us.

The Son gave himself up for us.

Takeaways:

Paul is explaining the transformation that takes place when one dies to himself and begins to follow Christ.

Although we continue to live in our fleshly bodies for now, we no longer live as we did prior to Christ — which was for ourselves.

We now live our lives by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself up as a sacrifice so that we can live forever.
