Scripture in 60: II Peter 3:9

NASB:

The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

NIV:

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Observations:

The Lord makes promises to us.

The Lord is not slow about keeping his promise, as we might understand slowness.

The Lord is patient toward us.

The Lord does not want anyone to perish.

The Lord wants all to come to repentance.

Takeaways:

Isn’t it a great comfort to know that the Lord not only makes promises to us, but is not slow about keeping his promises?

Now, we need to realize that when it says he is not slow about keeping his promise, it is not being slow as some understand slowness.

He is patient with all of us, not wanting any of us to be condemned to death but wanting each and every person to come to repentance and new life in him.
