Scripture in 60: Romans 8:38-39

NASB:

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV:

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor deamons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Observations:

Paul was convinced of the truths he was telling the Romans.

Neither death nor life can separate us from the love of God.

Neither angels nor principalities (or demons) can separate us from the love of God.

Neither the present nor the future can separate us from the love of God.

Powers cannot separate us from the love of God.

Neither height nor depth can separate us from the love of God.

No created thing can separate us from the love of God.

The love of God is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Takeaways:

Paul was driving home to the Romans how inseparable the bond of love between God and his people is, and he uses a list of examples of earthly things that cannot separate us from that love.

Nothing in all of this world can separate us from the love of God, and that love is found in Christ Jesus our Lord.
