NASB:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
NIV:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Observations:
All have sinned.
All fall short of God’s glory.
Takeaways:
This verse comes after a section in Romans three in which Paul is explaining how the entire world, not just a faction, is guilty of sin.
There is no person, other than Jesus, in human history who has not sinned.
As a result of our sin, we fall short of the glory of God, and there is no chance of our standing before God on our own merit.
But praise the lord, our story does not have to end there. There was one who came and was sacrificed to pay for our sin, Jesus Christ. And as a result of his redeeming work, we can reach the glory of God and have eternal life.
